Well my 5K blog and Facebook announcement has gotten some buzz (more or less "so you are going to run a 5K, huh?"). It may also be getting me into trouble...
I was talking with a co-worker the other day and some how we were talking about a Thanksgiving day "Turkey Trot"... then I Googled to see if there was such a thing... Turns out... there is...
I saw that there was a 5K Turkey Trot in Bismarck on Thanksgiving morning AND it is organized by the Cystic Fibrosis Association of North Dakota, which happens to be an organization that holds a special little place in my heart... this is where I found myself crossing the line into possible danger... I thought, how awesome would it be if I ran/walked this 5K and my registration fee went to the CFA of ND?? then I thought.... who could do it with me... here is the list that immediately popped into my head:
Jason (my boyfriend)
Chris (my favorite cousin who will be visiting from Colorado)
Brian (the above mentioned cousin's dad aka my uncle)
My mom
My dad
My brother
Shana (my brother's girlfriend)
Anyone else that was willing to drive to Bismarck on thanksgiving morning :)
That would be at least $160 raised to help people with Cystic Fibrosis breathe easier!!
So I texted my cousin, Chris (who I still have not gotten a response from...) and told Jason and my parents about this brilliant plan and it seems like it could work with the football and thanksgiving schedules since the race starts at 9:15AM! It would be a great way to do something as a family, do something active, and for a good cause all at the same time!!
So two weeks from tomorrow, I should be running/walking a 5K to benefit the CFA. I just need to get some people to do it with me!!
